CLASSIFICATION OF SOLUTION

CLASSIFICATION OF SOLUTION INTRODUCTION: The Solution is very significant in everyday life. We can't disregard the importance of a solution since we utilise it directly or indirectly from a cup of tea in the morning to dinner. DIFFENT CLASSIFICATION OF SOLUTION BASED UPON DIFFENT PROPERTIES: The solutions are categorised into several categories based on the qualities that are taken into account. Some of the most important classifications are as follows. Based upon mixture   Based upon particle size   Based upon solvent Based upon amount of solute A.  BASED UPON MIXTURE IN SOLUTION: Based upon mixture, the solution is classified into two types. Homogeneous solution   Binary solution      i .  HOMOGENEOUS SOLUTION: Two or more (similar) substances are consistently contained in this solution.  i.e.  ii . BINARY SOLUTION/HETEROGENOUS MIXTURE   This solution contains two components.  i.e   B.    BASED UPON S...

the Collidal state

THE COLLIDAL STATE HISTORY OF COLLOIDAL SOLUTION: The colloidal state was introduced by Thomas Graham first time in 1861AD. He made an experiment on the substance like sugarcane, urea, sodium chloride, glue, gelatin and gum Arabic etc And he observed that the substance like sugar cane, urea and sodium chloride passes rapidly through parchment membrane, and some substance like gum, gelatin and glue passes through membrane or doesn’t pass. slowly. Hence this difference made colloidal state to become one of the major  part of studies in Physical Chemistry. CLASSIFICATION OF COLLIDAL  Based upon the rate of diffusion through parchment membrane, Graham classified into two types. CRYSTALLOIDS COLLOIDS i. CRYSTALLOIDS: The word crystalloid means crystal like. (Crystal + Iodos = crystal like) This states are crystal in nature. In this state the solution rapidly diffuse through parchment membrane. I.e. Sugar, glucose, urea, inorganic salt, acid and base etc. ii..COLLOIDS The word col...

MOLECULAR ORBITAL THEORY:     Introduction Salient features of MOT Types of bonding Bonding  Antibonding Difference Between bonding  Linear Combination of atomic orbital  a. INTODRUCTION:          THE MOLECULAR ORBITAL THEORY put forward by F.HUND and S.MULLIKEN developed a bonding theory to overcome the limitation of valence bond theory  and explain the magnetic behaviour of molecules. b. SALIENT FEATURES OF MOT : ¢   When atoms combines to form molecules, their individual atomic orbitals lose their identity and forms new orbitals called molecular orbital.  ¢   The electrons in a molecule are accommodated in the newly formed molecular orbitals.  The filling of electrons in these orbitals follows AUFBAU’S and HUND’S rule as the as in the case of filling of electrons in atomic orbitals.  ¢   The shape of molecular orbitals depends upon the shape of combining atomic orbitals.  ¢   The...
